What do you get when you mix Nordic folk tunes with Brazilian drums? What happens when you blend Chinese melodic scales with Peruvian percussion?

The band Trygh (“trai-ig”) navigates this ocean of sounds to create a sonic palette of worldly influences shaped by local life under the Big Sky.

Playing mostly original tunes that build on the freshness derived from cross-pollination, Trygh also plays unique instrumental takes by artists ranging from  the Beatles to Billie Eilish to Bad Bunny.

Based in Bozeman, Montana, Trygh consists of Loren Block on electric bass and Jelani Mahiri on Afro-Latin and African hand percussion.
